MOD for WhatsApp with VPN
Due to the fact that the developers of WhatsApp don't rollout changes to the application that frequently, there are quite a few people who have set about developing their own versions of the application, known as MODS. These often offer a range of features, primarily aimed at customizing the interface and having greater control over user privacy vis-a-vis their contacts (not vis-a-vis WhatsApp, who control your communications).

ISWhatsApp Plus is one of those MODs which, like others, offers all kinds of themes for customizing the interface, functions which help control who can see connection status and who can't or whether messages with linked files can be sent. In short, everything related to making use the app a little more flexible when it comes to chatting.
What we are not so used to seeing is one of these appshaving its own built-in VPN for apparently safeguarding privacy in communications: this feature allows users to hide their location and encrpt inbound and outbound traffic. And we say 'apparently' because that VPN service could be saving activity logs, we just don't know.
So, if you are looking for a MOD that offers something apart from new themes and text font this app is an option... but be aware that when WhatsApp feels like it, it performs a clean-up to prevent users from using this kind of app.
