Open source version of Evernote
NixNote is a great application that can be used as an independent database for important notes, or as a desktop client for the Evernote online notes service.
What does it offer
It has to be said that NixNote, formerly known as Nevernote, provides the user with a wide range of tools, including the possibility to include formatted texts in the notes or to attach images and sound files to them. The creation of the notes is rather simple and straight forward, with all the options at the user's disposal.
One of the most noteworthy features of NixNote is the possibility to find the notes by means of tags or by searching throughout the full database, these searches can be configured and they can show the information selectively.
As we have stated above, NixNote has been designed so that it can be synchronized with Evernote, even offering the possibility to upload the attached files to the website, as long as they meet the prerequisites of the service (attached files of up to 25 MB for free users and up to 50 MB in the pay-to-use service).
