Open-source video editor

When we talk about video editors for PC, on many occasions we just stick to the most renowned programs in this sector such as Pinnacle Studio, Windows Movie Maker, Lightworks, and others, and we usually forget about one of the best editing applications, not only for videos but also images and audio, as is the case of Shotcut.

It's a free, multiplatform (there are versions for Windows, Ubuntu Linux, macOS, and FreeBSD) and open-source editor developed under a GPL license. It's quite easy to use and very powerful, with support for videos in 4K and that allows us to record straight from a webcam. Furthermore, apart from the typical video editing tools, it also includes a screenshot taker that can be very useful on certain occasions.

A great alternative to Adobe Premiere.

However, despite its simplicity, at least compared to other tools of similar nature that we've tried out in the past, it's always a great idea to get hold of some kind of tutorial of the many that are available on Google. A helping hand is always very useful when dealing with software we've never used before.
