This is the idea behind Study from Facebook, an application by which users authorize to be spied on everything they do with their cell phone: what applications you open, what websites you visit, what files you download... everything except passwords, photos, videos, and messages. In other words, it extracts generic information from users, ignoring the more personal aspects (they don't need them anyway).
This app specifically collects information on the following aspects:
- Applications installed on the phone.
- Time users spend on each app.
- Device set up, network type, operator, language...
- Features that users use in each app.
- Name of service providers.
Facebook uses all this information for internal studies and does not share it with anyone else.
This service can only be accessed by invitation, and you must be over 18: you must enter a valid email in the registration screen and wait for Facebook to approve the application. Once inside, if admitted, the app informs each user and includes them in its compensation system.
